Clean Shutdown Basic User Manual

Make sure if you have purchased multiple modules, the correct module is loaded for the version of exchange your database is.

 

To begin, click on “Start Program

 

Next, click on “File Options” then click on “Open Edb or Stm file

 

   

 

Now, browse for the file you wish to open

 

 

 

 Once the file has been loaded, the following information will be displayed: What file is loaded, “Db Signature Date” and the “Database State

 

 

 Once you find that the database is in a dirty shutdown state, click on “File Options”, then click “Write New Signature”, then click on either EdborStm

 

  

 

At this point, the program will check the UL format version; backup the database’s existing signature, then a new signature will be written.

 

 

 

If there is a Stm file, you should also update this file. Once you have updated all mailbox files, you should remove all .log files associated with the database and remove the e00.chk (edb.log for version 5.5 and below). 

 

Note: You can reload each file to verify the database state.
